The domain system needs an overhaul after people realised a few years ago that they could register domains that weren’t associated with their company, sit on them, then try and sell them to legitimate companies for huge amounts of money. How many times have you searched for a .com domain to find that it’s been taken and simply part of a domain holding site?
However, there are still some crafty domains that won’t have been registered simply because people do not think of the word combination that makes the domain so interesting. Thinking of a unique domain name and finding one that isn’t registered can be a eureka moment.
For this reason, you’ll need a quick and easy way to check domain availability whilst you’re browsing the Internet. See a combination of words and then check to see if a domain for these words or name is available.
Domain Lookup for Firefox is an add-on for Firefox that enables you to do a domain lookup through your right mouse button. Simply highlight some words in a website and then check to see if there is a .com or other domain available.
